UK’s Home Office and HM Passport Office announce new passport fees 18 August, 2023
The Home Office and HM Passport Office published the proposed changes, even though new passport fees are still being reviewed by Parliament: The cost of submitting a normal online passport application from within the UK will rise from £49 to £53.50 for children and from £75.50 to £82.50 for adults. Application fees for postal applications will always be more expensive than those for online applications. Adult prices will rise from £85 to £93 and kid prices will rise from £58.50 to £64. The idea also calls for standardising the cost of the priority service so that everyone applying will pay the same amount if they require a passport right away. The average online passport application takes over 95% of that time to process. People can obtain or renew their passports with the priority service in under a week.
